Trouble in GDIT City...
The GDIT site is currently having a major problem with one of its advertisers, which is causing users with the Internet Explorer browser to have their computers slow down to a stop under a blizzard of redirects to innumerable other sites. Some reseach by GDIT's crack researcher SGC has shown the culprit to be an entity named NTER ZONE.com, a supposed gaming site. Until Forumer gets off its rear and eliminates the NTER ZONE.com ad, I recommend that you either a) don't go to GDIT (try Deanna's Yahoo Group DeannaFriends--it's a great Group!), or b) use another browser to access GDIT. I'm told that Firefox works well, and I'm getting some of that myself...

I keep forgetting to sign up with Deanna's Yahoo group. Thanks for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, the NTER Zone.com thing...ugh.

Thanks for bringing this serious issue to light on your blog, Mister M! It's currently causing numerous heartaches for gullible PC users throughout the world. Those so inclined to blow off such unethical behavior by advertisers (along with the particular forum hosting site that doesn't have proper vetting procedures in place to protect its users when accepting these spurious and sometimes downright malicious adverts in the name of the almighty dollar) need to start becoming part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Each and every PC user has a role in all this: to keep their systems up-to-date with all relevant updates and applicable security fixes. Anything less on your part is tantamount to leaving the front door of your home wide open while obliviously taking a leisurely stroll around town for a few hours.
