My first such tale was The Snowden Snoops and the Case of the Stolen Santas, in which a very young Tricia and Krysten and friends investigate a rash of Santa-statue thefts and mutilations, only to find themselves in some very deep waters--in more ways than one! If you want to find out how they got out of that mess, you'll have to go check out the story in my GDIT thread! And an extra bit of holiday cheer to the one who first figures out which Sherlock Holmes tale is the basis for this one of my own! And I may even find the chance to bring back some of the characters of that tale in a future Snoop case...
Then there was my second attempt at Christmas sleuthing, known as The Snowden Junior Snoops: The Baby Doll Mystery, in which a very young Aisha gets more than she bargained for in a gift, and the Junior Snoops end up in yet more peril at the hands of bad guys in the mall! And we even get to see a pre-Seeking Serenity Serenity Mabrey in a dress! But all ends well in our mystery, with all those imperiled Junior Snoops--and their babysitter Abby Dwight--saved from a very unexpected direction. There are even chocolate-chip cookies for the good girls...
Last of all, we have a Very First Snoop tale, The Very First Snoop and the Case of the Part-Time Santa, based on a very famous Holmes tale. No illustrations, but a big heapin' helpin' of figgy pudding to the one who figures out which tale I heisted for my tribute tale! And any submissions for illustrations for the tale would be very welcome, Yuletide sleuths...
Anyhow, here's to all you GDITers, and also my wishes that your holidays are cheerful and bright, and safe too--I want to see all of you in the GDIT neighborhood in the new year!
I'm dropping in to comment (in case you've forgotten, Mr. M.!) that The Case of the Stolen Santas was the story that brought me out of writing "retirement" back then.
ReplyDeleteAnd for Sherlock Holmes stories, someday, I'd really like to read a Snoops adventure based on "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (!!).

I'd like to add my vote for "Hound of the Baskervilles", but (likely) for a different reason than Toby ... I still feel that a snoop-eating dog would be just the thing to rid Snowden of its infestation of silly little girls ...

Nuts, and the very first case I thought of was "Baskervilles" as well. Interesting how great minds think alike and all that!

I almost forgot to vote before the closing...that was too close.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I totally forgot about "Baskervilles" (which would make a good tale for damsels in distress). I'm not really familiar with Holmes' tales so I chose a title that aroused my interest...A Case of Identity ("Dancing Men" sounded a little too bizarre).
However, for a different idea, I saw the new movie of Sherlock Holmes, and I thought it was quite clever (not to mention Robert Downey, Jr. looking rather buff, and Rachel McAdams making a fetching damsel herself). I did like the whole conspiracy angle to it.

I do believe the voters ghave spoken, and Baskervilles win! I'll have to start figuring out how to rip off--I mean properly pay tribute to--the old masterpiece...
